Manuela Furhimann, your chef and co-owner of The Playhouse is a European trained chef with over 15 years experience in kitchens throughout the world.

Her passion for local flavours and produce mixed with a twist of European flair adds an extra dimension to your wedding and your guests raving about the food.

The menus we listed below are really just guidelines and ideas, we aim to create the perfect menu for your big day. We can substitute, change or revise all of our menu options to your tastes, dietary requirements and style.

Canapés/finger foods.

Our Canapes are $3.50 per person, per choice, or you can lay us out a budget and we can work to that. Most canapés will have two nibbles per person.

Please note the buffet prices below do not include a dessert option, these are listed below and are additional. Remember we can substitute many options below depending on the season or style you desire. A green summer salad instead of steamed greens, ham rather than roast beef, most options are achievable with no or minimal changes in pricing.

Basic: Choose any three mains & add either two starters or two desserts $39.

Advanced: Choose any two starters, three mains & two desserts for $47.

Premium: Choose any three starters, four mains & three desserts for $59.

Starters

  • Soup of the Moment
  • Selection of Homemade Bread & Dips
  • Lamb Koftas served on a cucumber salad and drizzled with a mint yoghurt sauce.
  • Home Smoked Salmon served on a bed of greens drizzled with an olive & caper vinaigrette.
  • Honey & Soy Marinated Chicken Skewers served with homemade satay sauce.
  • Home smoked chicken tossed with sautéed mushrooms in brown butter served on seasonal greens.
  • Selection of Vegetarian Filo Parcels served on seasonal greens drizzled with a yoghurt & lemon dressing.

Mains

  • Beef fillet on roasted beetroot, red onion & feta cheese salad, drizzled with delicate elderflower jus.
  • Apricot Rolled Chicken roast served with seasonal kumara, bacon & sage mash vegetables and dressed with a gewurtz jus.
  • Moroccan Spiced Lamb served on a bed of aromatic couscous dressed with a delicately spiced jus.
  • Salmon Fillet encrusted in spinach and wrapped in a light puff pastry Accompanied by a sweet potato roesti and seasonal greens.
  • Fish of the Day pan fried served with seasonal vegetables and almond butter potatoes.
  • Mediterranean Roasted Vegetable Stack served on backed polenta and drizzled with herb pesto.
  • Spinach, Feta, Lemon Zest & Roasted Nut Filo served with a seasonal salad and drizzled with light vinaigrette.
  • Braised Chickpeas with Tomato & Seasonal Vegetables served on a delicately spiced wild rice pilaf.

Dessert

Family Style Menu This has become a  very popular option as it makes for a very social and relaxed dining experience and everyone can pick and choose what they like .There are many different options available for this style, Entrees can be either alternative dropped or served platter style to the table.

All mains are then served on platters to the  table , leaving people to serve themselves and socialize as they pass food around. Dessert once again can be platters to the table or alternative drops or orders taken. Please see a sample of this style menu below. ($45) Price will depend on the choices of food. Please ask for a quote.
